The Latest Updates on 72/144-hour Visa-Free Transit Arrangement to China
From November 17th, 2023, the number of eligible countries and regions that enjoy "Transit Visa-Free Arrangement to China" has been expanded to 54 countries!
What does this mean for you?
As a passport holder from one of these listed 54 countries and regions, you now have the opportunity to explore China without the need for a visa on short stays.
Depending upon the cities and ports you enter in China, you can apply for a visa-free transit arrangement of either 72 or 144 hours directly at China customs.
Required Documentation
A valid international travel document (i.e., Passport) that is valid for no less than 3 months and permits entry into a third country or region.
A confirmed connecting ticket to a third country or region with a specified date and seat within 72/144 hours, or the relevant certificates.
An "Arrival Card For Temporary Entry Foreigners".
However, it's important to be aware of the conditions in which the visa-free transit application may be declined.
Conditions for Rejection
Individuals whose passports or other international travel documents are valid for less than 3 months, or who bear a refusal stamp by China’s visa authorities, or who have records of illegal entry, illegal residence, or illegal employment within the past 5 years, will not be eligible to apply for the 72/144 hours Visa-free transit.
